These pre-made embellishments are masterfully handcrafted by weaving a traditional Japanese paper called washi. The result of this intricate process is an elegant ribbon-like decoration sometimes referred to as Japanese Paper Cord or Mizuhiki. Musubi Accents have been used in Japan for over 1000 years. Traditionally Musubi was used to decorate gifts and believed to bring the recipient good luck while connecting the hearts of the sender and recipient.
